Black & White Saturday Night.

Dress: Kimberly Ovitz  |  Handbag: Vintage (thrifted)  |  Heels: Jimmy Choo

Most of you know that Hubs and I live in a Jonathan Segal unit on the edge of downtown San Diego. I've talked about Jonathan Segal's brilliant architect work before, but last night we popped next door to congratulate and support his daughter, Brittany Segal, on her first art show. We watched people coming and going for the last couple of weeks helping Brittany transform her place in to a gorgeous art gallery for her big night. Her work is fresh, modern and when you look closely you will see that it's all in the details. I love her color palate and the passion and detail of her work. Some pieces are smooth and glossy, while others have more texture and are framed with beautiful brushed gold modern vintage frames. I know how much blood, sweat and tears go in to pursuing a dream and we are proud to support a neighbor/friend turning her passion in to a career. She is truly an artist. Check out her work and order your favorite pieces hereCheers to you Brittany!

Saturday Simplicity.

Turtleneck: Thrifted  |  Jeans: Gap  |  Jacket: Found at Buffalo Exchange  |  Heels: Nine West
Shades: F21  |  Handbag: Alexander Wang

Today I made a trip to the mall to shop for a few work wardrobe staples. It has been a while since I have worked in an office and somehow I didn't have a basic black pencil skirt or black dress pants (since sequins, leather and polka dots don't count as basic). I found my way to Ann Taylor and re-connected. I forgot how fabulous this store is! Plus Kate Hudson is the poster girl and I love her. Everything I tried on in Ann Taylor was great quality, classic and fit like a glove. Did I mention the dressing rooms were fab? Great lighting, plush seating and a color palate of grey, silver and cream. The best part is that most pieces are not only great for work but also for mixing in with play clothes. Ann Taylor makes me feel chic, lady like and all grown up.

I like to be comfortable but still put together when I go to the mall. My favorite uniform is all black and a touch of leopard never hurts. :) I am so excited that it finally cooled down enough to pull on a cozy turtleneck and wear a little coat. Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!

Fall Floral.

Blouse: Prabul Gurung for Target | Blazer: Truth & Pride | Pants: Paige Black Label
Heels: Ralph Lauren (thrifted) | Bangle: LFR DesignsHandbag: Alexander Wang

I recently transitioned from working in an upscale women's boutique to an office. The best part (besides working 9-5, having weekends and holidays off, and a fun group of co-workers) has been being able to wear heels everyday! When I was on my feet nine hours a day I just couldn't do it, but now I can rock heels seven days a week if I want to. :)

This floral blouse is one of my favorites and I love that I found it on clearance at Target after the Prabal Gurung launch. Major score! A printed sleeveless blouse is a wardrobe staple. It's easy to layer under anything (like the blazer I paired with it today) but you can also wear it without a layer in the warmer weather and it is still professional. A while back I posted it tied up in the front with a pleated faux leather skirt. Super fun! Try pairing with a leather jacket, ripped skinnies and a bright pair of heels for a night out. If you are looking for a fabulous blouse check out the line Equipment. They always get it right!

Date Night.

Dress: H&M / Sweater: H&M / Booties: BCBG Girls / Scarf: Gifted / Clutch: Henry Bendel

Yesterday afternoon my husband called to say he wanted to pick me up for dinner to celebrate my new job. I was having a relaxing afternoon so I kept it going by taking a nice bath to freshen up. Then I lit a candle, put on Frank Sinatra, and cozied up in my robe to play with my eye makeup. Okay, I have to admit I also sipped bubbly straight out of the bottle but don't judge me...it was already open from Sunday mimosa's. I couldn't let it go flat!

I love a comfy yet sexy outfit for a casual date night. In one glance it says low maintenance, approachable, confident and sexy which men love.  I am lucky to have a husband that doesn't think that skin tight is the only sexy. He loves that I switch it up. Let's be honest, most of us women don't feel like putting on a body con dress every time we go out to dinner. Some nights I'm ready to rock it and other nights I prefer to just show leg. Last night it was perfect since we ended up in a cozy corner booth at our favorite sushi spot (Harney Sushi in Old Town). Cheers to cozy date nights!

Fall Favorites.

Sweatshirt: Zoe Karssen: Similar Here / Skirt: Thrifted: Similar Here/ Booties: Sam Edelman: Similar Here
Earrings: Francesca's / Handbag: Alexander Wang: Smaller Version Here

Don't you just love Fall? It is by far my favorite season. Crisp air, the smell of leaves, rich colors, and my fashion favorite...sweaters! These photos are from last week but I thought this was a good time to post the look since I am wearing a bat sweatshirt and Halloween is right around the corner. :) I love that Zoe Karssen sweatshirts are fitted so you can tuck them in to a pencil skirt. I found this leather skirt at a thrift shop and it magically fit like a dream! A pop of leopard makes any outfit and I added a little more color with these fun earrings I recently found on sale at Francesca's. What's your favorite Fall item right now?

More is More.

Dress: Zara / Shoes: Celine / Handbag: Vintage (thrifted) / All Jewelry: LFR Designs

I am head over heels in love with this dress and shoes I pulled and borrowed from the closet of my girl Dr. Zoe Rafaat (click on Perfect Face). I have always loved sharing clothes, shoes and accessories with my girlfriends but it rarely happens once you are married, no longer have roommates, and don't go out as often. Even though I have a styling blog and wardrobe clients for my job that does not mean I don't have a fashion crisis every now and again. When my husband and I decided last minute to attend the Museum of Contemporary Art Monte Carlo event after party (with a Saint Tropez theme) I realized I had nothing to wear. I text Zoe and she generously opened her closet to me. As girls we all get sick of our own closets from time to time and feel better in anything other than our own stuff. Diving in to Zoe's closet was the same thrill as going shopping for something new. This look was totally me and since Zoe and I share a love for the same pieces I knew I would find something fabulous to borrow. It is so important to wear looks that you feel comfortable and fabulous in. If you aren't comfortable it will show. Having girlfriends with a similar style makes it easier to wear a completely "new" look from time to time. That said, I am very particular about who borrows my things. They must be as particular as I am and my one rule is that they never wash anything. I am a freak about laundering and that is how I make pieces last a long time. It's worth the time and TLC!

Let's talk about the jewelry...I am in love with all things LFR Designs!!! Leslie Fastlicht Russo is an amazing jewelry designer and her pieces are addicting! They are bold, unique, and timeless. When in doubt about what pieces to wear, put them all on!! My look was somewhat day time so I had to sass it up with a bit of bling. In the photos above I am wearing bone earrings, resin bracelets with semi precious stones, a Swarovski cuff, a snakeskin/drusy/Swarovski wrap bracelet, large amethyst ring and a stacked Swarovski ring. In my world of accessorizing, more is more! ;)

Kaftan Love.

Kaftan: Camilla / Wedges: We Who See / Shades: La Loupe Vintage
Bangles: Resin & Turquoise: LFR Designs, Black & Gold:Target

It is safe to say I am obsessed with my Camilla kaftan!!! With 14+ ways to wear it you can't go wrong. If you aren't familiar with Camilla she is an amazing designer out of Australia. Her prints are outrageous and fabulous!! Most pieces are silk and Swarovski crystals and one size fits all. I love almost everything by Camilla, but the round neck kaftan is the most bang for your buck. Easy for everyday, evening events and the best travel piece! Follow me on Instagram to see more ways to style your kaftan!
